U.S. Department of Education Launches College.gov

Sunday October 5, 2008
Recently, the Department of Education launched College.gov (off-site link), a website aimed at helping citizens plan for college. They explain:
"This site is intended to be the go-to source for information and resources about planning, preparing and paying for postsecondary education (such as 2- or 4-year colleges and universities, and vocational or career schools).

Most importantly, college.gov is intended to provide inspiration and hope to all students, and encourage them to consider and pursue a postsecondary education."
The site is still being developed, but it already offers some useful information for distance learners. Check it out to hear stories from real college students, learn more about financial aid, and print a personalized college roadmap.
