New Profile: Eastern Kentucky University

Since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, the master's program in homeland security has become a cornerstone of Eastern Kentucky University's online curriculum. Overall, the distance education branch serves more than 10,000 students. Eastern Kentucky University touts the flexibility of its Web-based offerings, but cautions that classes that demand real-time participation require that students log in at specified times. In addition, classes must be completed within a designated semester. Enrollment is offered six times a year.
