Jamie Littlefield is a former writer for ThoughtCo where she wrote about distance learning for more than 11 years. As an online instructor and instructional designer, she has considerable experience in mentoring students in nontraditional settings. Littlefield contributed to multiple textbooks and taught distance education courses at both the high school and college levels. She also served on the advisory board of the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) for seven years.
