California University of Pennsylvania, part of Pennsylvania's public higher-education system, launched its Global Online campus in 2004. The university offers a variety of online master's degrees and certifications as well as two undergraduate programs. California University of Pennsylvania Global Online Accreditation:
The Middle States Commission on Higher Education accredits California University of Pennsylvania, including its Global Online campus. The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education also accredits the university's programs.
California University of Pennsylvania Global Online Degrees and Programs:
Bachelor's degrees are available only in legal studies and wellness/fitness. Graduate programs include master's degrees in legal studies, school administration, secondary teaching, rehabilitation, performance enhancement, sport management, sports psychology, tourism and wellness. Educators may earn certification as principals, superintendents and other school administrators. Post-master's certificates in sports sciences also are available.
California University of Pennsylvania Global Online Admissions:
Graduate students must provide proof of a bachelor's degree and an official transcript. Students whose undergraduate GPA is less than 3.0 must take the Miller Analogies Test for conditional acceptance. Business-administration candidates must sit for the Graduate Management Admission Test, while potential graduate students in biology, communication disorders and social work must take the Graduate Record Examination. Students seeking master's degrees in education must be certified as teachers in their chosen field. International students must provide a TOEFL score and an English translation of their post-secondary transcripts. Post-master's certificates may have additional prerequisites.
Undergraduate students are required to submit a high school transcript with class rank or a GED certificate. SAT or ACT scores are required, but may be waived for students who have been out of high school for two or more years or have a previous degree. Transfer students must provide official transcripts from all previous colleges. Semesters begin in January and August, with summer sessions and a December intersession also available.
California University of Pennsylvania Global Online Costs:
Part-time undergraduate Pennsylvania residents pay $216 per credit; nonresidents pay between $220 and $540 per credit. To earn a bachelor's degree, students must amass 120 credits. Resident graduate students pay $345 per credit, while nonresidents pay between $351 and $863 per credit. Most master's programs require about 36 credits. A variety of fees also are assessed. An online tuition calculator provides more-detailed estimates. Federal financial aid is available for all students, and active members of the US military are eligible for in-state tuition with a copy of their military ID, and either a letter from their service branch's education or personnel office or a copy of their deployment orders.
Interesting Fact:
Although not required, some students travel to Pennsylvania to attend their graduation ceremony in person and meet their classmates and professors for the first time.
