Cambridge College Online Academics:

Blended distance-learning supports Cambridge College's mission to reach out to working adults. The school offers some courses that are fully online and some that are conducted nearly half on the web. Most programs require in-person interaction. "We believe that quality academic programs are best provided with some amount of face to face interface," a Cambridge spokesman tells About.com. That said, Cambridge's graduate business school master's in management is characterized as online, though students must visit the campus once a month. Students also attend seminars with business leaders. The average class ratio is 16 to 1, according to Cambridge. That provides an intimate forum for those who have long sought academic credentials. The school at large, which includes campuses in Ontario, Calif.,  Augusta, Ga., and San Juan, Puerto Rico, in addition to its Cambridge, Mass., flagship campus, offers bachelor's and master's degrees for teachers, managers and service providers, plus doctoral programs in education. Most students using the Internet as their primary classroom can handle 12 to 15 credits per trimester, Cambridge says. Education degrees present other restrictions, because anyone pursuing a Massachusetts credential must do so in person.

Cambridge College Online Accreditation:

Cambridge College is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.

Cambridge College Online Degrees and Programs:

The business school's master's of management is billed as an online degree that can be completed in 12 months. But it is not completely online. As mentioned, students are required to visit the campus once a month and also attend symposiums with accomplished executives. The master's of management has global and healthcare specializations. Both teach leadership, unity-building, conflict resolution and technological application.

Cambridge College Online Admissions:

If undergraduates do not have a high school diploma, GED or junior college degree, they can take a standardized test to show they're ready for college. For graduate school, a bachelor's degree is required, plus an essay, a recommendation and a resume. Cambridge calls its credit-transfer policy "flexible." It's mostly open enrollment for those who want to take single courses and vie for a few of the school's certificates.

Cambridge College Online Costs:

The blended-learning management master's program costs $590 per credit hour. General undergraduate units are priced at $365. There are fees, including application ($50 or $100), and a nonrefundable admission deposit ($100) can later be applied to tuition.

Interesting Fact:

Cambridge College began in 1971 as the Institute of Open Education at Newton College of the Sacred Heart, then became a satellite of the Antioch University Network. It established itself as an independent college in 1981.
