What is required to apply to an online school?

By Jamie Littlefield, About.com

Question: What is required to apply to an online school?
Answer: Different schools have different requirements. Most accredited schools will ask for materials that are similar to traditional schools. You will likely be required to have a high school diploma or GED and take an admissions test. A typical application packet includes transcripts, test scores, an application essay, and a couple letters of recommendation. However, not all schools have strict requirements. Some are more lenient and have programs that allow nontraditional students, including people who did not earn a high school diploma, to enroll.
