University of Oklahoma High School Academics:

The University of Oklahoma High School (UOHS) is a distance learning diploma program offering both internet courses and paper correspondence courses. UOHS students have access to over one hundred classes including electives such as journalism, aviation science, and Latin. They may also choose from over 60 University of Oklahoma college courses as dual-enrollment students.

University of Oklahoma High School Accreditation:

UOHS is accredited by the North Central Association's Higher Learning Commission, a regional accreditor. It is also accredited by the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA).

University of Oklahoma High School Degrees and Programs:

Students can choose to take single courses or enroll in a complete online UOHS diploma program. The diploma program requires students to complete at least 23 units of traditional high school coursework such as English, math, and science. Students can also choose from dozens of unique electives. Diploma recipients must complete at least five half-unit courses at UOHS.

Students have the option of enrolling in some freshman and sophomore-level University of Oklahoma courses to receive dual credit.

University of Oklahoma High School Admissions:

To apply, prospective UOHS students must submit a simple form and a $40 non-refundable deposit. The form asks for basic personal information as well as a short description of schools previously attended. Students can apply for admission and begin classes at any time. They are notified of admissions decisions within two weeks of submitting their applications.

University of Oklahoma High School Costs:

OU High School charges $150 per course. Since each course is .5 units, the entire diploma program costs about $6,900 (or $1,725 a year).

Interesting Fact:

By enrolling in University of Oklahoma college-level courses, high school students can complete their diploma requirements while building a college transcript. It may be possible to graduate high school with as many credits as a college sophomore.
