1. Is this school accredited? By whom?
The school is accredited by several organizations including the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools (NAAS), the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU), and the Commission on International and Tran regional Accreditation (CITA).
2. How much is tuition? Are there any additional fees or hidden costs?
University classes are $119 per credit. High school courses cost $102 for .5 credits or $62 for .25 credits. Enrichment courses cost $23 and values courses are $31 each.
3. What education and experience do your teachers have?
Most of the teachers designed the course they are teaching. Teachers must have a degree in the subject they are teaching. High school teachers must hold a teaching credential.
4. What education and experience do your course writers or designers have?
Most college course designers teach at the physical college campus and hold an advanced degree in the subject they are writing for. High school course writers generally teach at physical high schools and hold a degree in their subject ass well as a teaching credential.
5. How many students does each teacher work with?
Teachers may work with a few hundred students or a few thousand students depending on the class type. Courses that permit thousands of enrollees usually have computerized grading on most assignments.
6. What hardware is required?
For internet courses, students must be able to use a computer with internet access.
7. Will I need to purchase any additional software?
Some courses require students to download Flash.
8. What degrees and courses are offered?
The university offers 600 paper and 400 online courses from the 7th grade to university level. Students can earn a high school diploma, take transferable college courses, or complete a degree that was already started at the physical campus.
9. How long does it take to complete the program?
Students generally complete courses in the same time it takes to complete courses at a regular campus.
10. Can I speed ahead or take more time and work at my own pace?
Students may complete the classes as fast as they are able to or may take up to a year to complete each class. If students need to take more than a year they may pay a fee and apply for an extension.
11. What curriculum is used? Will I need to purchase textbooks?
Many of the high school courses are self contained and do not require additional curriculum. College courses require students to purchase textbooks.
12. What if students need extra help?
Students who need extra help may contact the office or their instructor. There is an office number provided. Instructors may be contacted by email and must respond within 48 hours. Some college instructors give students access to their phone number and permit calls during office hours.
