SCPD Academics:
The Stanford Center for Professional Development (SCPD) offers students the opportunity to take online courses led by Stanfords distinguished faculty. Students can enroll in graduate-level courses, certificate programs, and masters degree programs in the fields of science, technology, and engineering. Degree-seeking applicants must enroll though a "member company" that has an association with the SCPD program.SCPD Accreditation:
Stanford University is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, a regional accreditor.SCPD Degrees and Programs:
Many options are available through the Stanford Center for Professional Development. Only employees of "member companies" may earn graduate degrees through the Honors Cooperative Program (HCP). Masters degrees available completely online include: biomedical informatics, computer science, materials science and engineering, mechanical engineering, and management science and engineering.Prospective students who are not employed by "member companies" are able to earn online certificates or take individual courses through the SCPD non-degree seeking option. Some certificates may be earned in just a few hours.
SCPD Admissions:
Degree-seeking students must submit a regular Stanford application including official transcripts, letters of recommendation, and official GRE scores. Their applications are considered by the appropriate department alongside those from traditional students.Students enrolling in individual courses or certificate programs are not usually required to meet any prerequisites.
