Pay Attention to Pay
- In my experience, getting the job of online teacher isn't that difficult. Find the ad, hit apply... The problem is that pay at most online schools I've come across is a sad joke - it's usually no more than my aide made during my first year of teaching brick-and-mortar! As a result, most online schools are a revolving door; parents complain all the time about the high teacher turnover. So if getting that online job is really what you want, you're probably in luck. The question is whether you can afford it.

Simply Applied Online
- I teach math through a larger online high school. I didn't do anything special, just applied through the school's website. It seems that teachers in math or science with at least some classroom experience don't have too much trouble finding an online teaching job in today's job market.

Online Charter School Friends
- I used to work with a woman who went on to be in the administration of an online charter high school. She asked if I was interested in interviewing and I got the job. Now I get to stay at home with my baby while still teaching. A dream come true for this stay-at-home-but-still-working mom.
